Accommodation for families - houses

New full-time students who wish to bring their children to live with them whilst undertaking their studies will be eligible to apply for a family house.

Please be aware that family accommodation is often very popular; unfortunately, the we cannot guarantee family accommodation or accept responsibility for housing students who wish to bring families, or partners to Cranfield.

If you would like to apply for family accommodation, please ensure you make your application as soon as you receive your course offer, as family accommodation is often very popular.

If you have not secured family accommodation prior to your arrival we strongly advise that you come to Cranfield alone in the first instance, and that you are joined by your family only when you have secured suitable accommodation. Finding private family accommodation at the beginning of the academic year is sometimes difficult, and temporary accommodation suitable for families is often expensive.

Subject the the availability of a suitable sized property we may be able to consider applications from those wishing to bring a nanny; however, we regret that we can not offer family accommodation those who would like to bring other family members, such as grandparents, or where accompanying children are 18 years old, or over.

How the family houses are allocated:

  • Two bedroom houses - suitable for students with a spouse/partner and one child, or two children under the age of five.
  • Three bedroom houses - suitable for students with a spouse/partner and two children over the age of five and of a different sex, or three children.
  • Four bedroom houses  - suitable for students with a spouse/partner and three children all over the age of five and of a difference sex, or four/five children.
