Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship Programme

The Aga Khan Foundation provides a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from developing countries who have no other means of financing their studies. Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant : 50% loan basis through a competitive application process once a year in June or July. The Foundation assists students with tuition fees and living expenses only. The Foundation gives priority to requests for Master's level courses but is also willing to consider applications for PhD programmes. Anglo-Jewish Association

British Chevening Scholarships

In common with other British universities, Cranfield is also currently supporting the UK governments “Education @ UK” initiative by offering a 20% fee reduction to all British Council funded students on Master programmes. For more information visit: www.chevening.com

British Council Scholarships and Fellowships

Students attending Cranfield University will be eligible for these British Council Scholarships and Fellowships. It is advised for individuals to contact their local British Council Office initially. A full listing of British council addresses can be found at www.britishcouncil.org

Canon Collins Educational Trust for Southern Africa

The Canon Collins Trust provides scholarships to students from countries of southern Africa (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Angola and Mozambique) who wish to pursue a postgraduate degree (normally a one year Master's degree) in the United Kingdom. Both partial grants and full scholarships are awarded annually. Full scholarships provide maintenance and tuition fees. Scholarships for study in the United Kingdom are awarded for degrees that are either not available in southern African universities or not available at the required level. Charles Wallace Trusts

Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP)

CSFP provide awards for students attending a Masters, MPhil or PhD programme. They cover the cost of travel, tuition fees and other expenses. Applicants must be Commonwealth citizens and must be a permanent resident in a Commonwealth county other than the UK. Applications must be made in the first instance to the Commonwealth Scholarship agency in the country in which the applicant has his/her permanent home. Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme

The Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme provides these awards for students from developing Commonwealth countries who would not otherwise be able to study in the United Kingdom. Awards are for taught postgraduate courses. There is no formal list of eligible subjects, however all courses undertaken must be demonstrably relevant to the economic, social or technological development of the candidate's home country. Applicants should:

•           be nationals of (or permanently domiciled in) a Commonwealth developing country and not currently living or

            studying in a developed country

•           hold a first degree at either first or upper second class level

•           be sufficiently fluent in English to pursue the course

•           have not previously studied for one year or more in a developed country

•           not be employed by a government department

•           be able to confirm in writing that neither they or their families would otherwise be able to pay for

            the proposed course of study

•           be willing to confirm that they will return to their home country as soon as their period of study is complete.

CONACYT (Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología)                                 

Cranfield offers competitive scholarships for Mexican students in conjunction with CONACyT - Mexico Science and Technology Council.

The scholarships are available for Master's and PhD programmes in the following areas: Biotechnology; Medicine; Energy; Environment; Manufacturing technologies; Materials; Nanotechnology; Information Technology and telecommunications; Applied Mathematics and modelling.

Cranfield offers a scholarship worth 25% of the tuition fee to scholars whose remaining tuition fees are paid by CONACyT. CONACyT will also provide scholars with a stipend.

Croucher Foundation of Hong Kong

The Croucher Foundation provides financial support for promising young people in Hong Kong to pursue scientific research at postdoctoral and doctoral levels. The awards offered are intended to enable applicants who are permanent residents of Hong Kong to devote themselves to a period of full-time study or research in natural science, medicine or technology in approved academic institutions outside Hong Kong. e8 Sustainable Energy Development Scholarship Program

The purpose of the e8 scholarship is to support outstanding students pursuing advanced studies in sustainable energy development and to encourage meaningful contributions to the collective body of knowledge about this subject. To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, students must:

• plan to undertake studies at the Masters level or Post-Doctoral level in areas directly related to sustainable energy development

• be citizens of the developing countries and territories identified for OECD official development aid in the DAC List of ODA Recipients

Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program (IFP)

The International Fellowships Program provides support for up to three years of formal graduate-level study leading to a masters or doctoral degree in a number of subjects including Environment and Development. Fellows are selected from countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Russia, where the Ford Foundation maintains active overseas programs. Formula Santander Scholarships 

The Formula Santander scholarships programme has one €5000 scholarship available. Applicants must be from Spain, Brazil or the UK. They must be either a prospective Masters student or final year PhD student or nominated by their school.Students must indicate their interest in this award on their application form. Fulbright Awards

Fulbright awards are aimed at US citizens to fund the first year of a master's or doctorate degree or to pursue research at an educational institution within the UK. The awards cover tuition fees, a maintenance stipend and accident and sickness insurance for one academic year, usually beginning in mid-late September (approx. 9 months). Joint Japan / World Bank Graduate Scholarships

The Joint Japan/ World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program covers costs for up to two years of study toward a master's degree in a field related to development. To be eligible, students must be a national of a Bank member-country, have been accepted at a university outside their country, be under 45 years old and have at least two years of professional experience. Marshall Scholarships

Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom at graduate level for two years. Open only to United States citizens who (at the time they take up their Scholarship) hold a first degree from an accredited four-year college or university in the United States with a minimum GPA of 3.7. University fees, living expenses, annual book grant, thesis grant, research and daily travel grants, fares to and from the United States and, where applicable, a contribution towards the support of a dependent spouse. Postgrad Solutions Study Bursaries 2012

Postgrad Solutions Ltd, in association with IELTS, is offering 13 Postgraduate Study Bursaries for 2012. Each bursary is worth £500 and they are open to students from anywhere in the world. S. H. A. Ziauddin Trust

Awards for up to £500 are available to anyone studying, or wishing to study, on courses in science, agriculture or environmental protection, and willing to use their skills for the benefit of the peoples of the Indian sub-continent (i.e. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka) will be considered at all times of the year.

TARGETcourses – bursary competition 2012

TARGETcourses is giving away six bursaries of £2,000 to help pay fees for a postgraduate course at a UK university. Entrants must answer three questions about their hopes and aspirations of postgraduate study in no more than 1,000 words. The 2012 competition closes at 5pm on 15 June 2012. The Africa Educational Trust

The Africa Education Trust provides full-time and part-time Scholarships to students of African descent. The Scholarships cover transport costs, fees and books. The Beit Trust

The Beit Trust makes annual offers of a small number of Fellowships for postgraduate studies or research to graduates who are domiciled in Malawi, Zambia or Zimbabwe (the beneficial area). The duration of the Fellowships are normally for up to three years at the discretion of Trustees. The Fellowships are undertaken at a University either in the United Kingdom, Ireland or South Africa, for study in a subject of the student’s choice appropriate to the needs of the beneficial area. The award covers maintenance and other allowances, payment of tuition fees, and travel to and from the UK.
