School of Applied Sciences funding opportunities

 

CASE Awards (Co-operative Awards in Science and Engineering), Industrial Studentships, (DTA) Doctoral Studentships.

Each year the School receives a number of these awards, which are distributed according to the applicant’s qualifications. EPSRC will only consider applications from candidates who have at least a 2nd class UK honours degree or equivalent. Candidates must be UK residents.

 

Cranfield-Euclid Scholarships - up to £9k+UK fees

Applied Sciences Scholarships are available for mathematics graduates pursing a full-time Masters course, covering UK fees plus up to £9k towards living costs. Students must highlight their interest in the scholarship on their application form.

 

Cranfield-Kirchhoff Scholarships - up to £9k+UK fees

Applied Sciences Scholarships are available for physics graduates pursing a full-time Masters course, covering UK fees plus up to £9k towards living costs. Students must highlight their interest in the scholarship on their application form.

 

Cranfield-Liebig Scholarships up to £9k+UK fees

Applied Sciences Scholarships are available for environmental science graduates pursing a full-time Masters course, covering UK fees plus up to £9k towards living costs. Students must highlight their interest in the scholarship on their application form.

 

Cranfield-Mendeleev Scholarships up to £9k+UK fees

Applied Sciences Scholarships are available for chemistry, chemical engineering and biochemistry graduates pursing a full-time Masters course, covering UK fees plus up to £9k towards living costs. Students must highlight their interest in the scholarship on their application form.

 

DARD Northern Ireland Postgraduate Studentships

Each year, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development offers a limited number of postgraduate studentships. These are for either formal courses at postgraduate level or for a period of research leading to a higher degree from a United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland university. Douglas Bomford Trust

The Douglas Bomford Trust's overall objective is to advance knowledge, understanding, practice, competence and capability in the application of engineering and physical science to agriculture, horticulture, forestry, amenity and allied land based and biological activities for the sustainable benefit of the environment and mankind. Environmental Issues Award

The Environmental Issues award assists with funding for educational programmes dealing with environmental issues or supports environmental project work. The value of this award is worth up to £1,000. Applicants must be members of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and must hold a degree accredited by the Institution. Applications can be made throughout the year through the online application form.

Panasonic Trust Fellowships

The objective of the Fellowships is to provide financial support to selected graduate engineers wishing to undertake full-time Masters’ courses in subjects related to the Environment and Sustainability. Each Fellowship has a financial value of £8,000. Awards are presently tenable for study on the following courses: MSc Water and Wastewater Engineering and MSc Waste and Resource Management

Society for Underwater Technology (SUT)

Grants of up to £4,000 are available on a competitive basis for the full-time MSc Offshore and Ocean Technology. Application forms are available from Cranfield on acceptance onto the Course. Ultra Precision Technologies Industrial Studentships

Industrial studentships of up to £10,000 p.a are available for high quality UK students on the MSc Ultra Precision Technologies. Companies and organisations that have pledged their support through studentships and sponsorships include Gooch & Housego, Microsharp Corporation Limited, Qioptiq, Perkin Elmer, Technium Optic, Phoenix Optical Glass Ltd and PJ Coatings.

 

Utilities and Service Industries Training (USIT) Limited Career Development Awards

USIT provides sponsorship of up to £7,500 for individuals, whose employees are unable to fully-fund their development, to attend an established academic course in the UK which is relevant to the water utility industry. Courses which may be eligible include:
