Cranfield School of Management and Bedford Borough Council are delighted to announce the Bedford Borough Scholarship Programme to support business growth and local business decarbonisation in Bedford.

Via this programme, businesses based in Bedford Borough can apply for fully funded scholarship places on Cranfield University's prestigious courses for business leaders.

This programme is funded by the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Programmes available:

Scholarship spaces are limited and will be allocated based on business and course eligibility criteria.

Business eligibility criteria

For the purposes of this programme, business means a sole trader, micro business, small and medium-sized enterprise, or large business. It also includes social enterprises where these engage in economic activity.

Applicants must be:

Enterprises in liquidation, dissolved, struck off or subject to a striking-off notice are not eligible.

Scholarship spaces are limited and will be allocated based on the individual course eligibility criteria.

Ready for Scale Scholarships

The Ready for Scale programme helps your business take a leap on its growth trajectory, transforming it. You will learn how to deal with external challenges and take advantage of opportunities to give your business a competitive edge. The programme uses the same proven successful growth plan as the Business Growth Programme.

Ready for Net Zero Growth Scholarships

This growth programme helps you embed your businesses’ Net Zero ambitions within your business growth plan. It will show you how to critically review your business by asking challenging questions and thoroughly reviewing what is and is not working. You will understand your carbon footprint and why it matters, as well as making a plan to reduce your carbon emissions and gain competitive edge in the process.

  • Calculate your carbon emissions and develop a carbon reduction plan
  • Grow your network of support and get results faster than working through the framework on your own

Course structure

  • Two half-day online workshops
  • Six online modules. Work through modules in your own time. Generally, this is 45-60 minutes per module. After each module, you will submit an assignment
  • Tutorials – to summarise key learnings and ask questions after each module
  • 1-1 mentoring

Eligibility

  • Owner / senior manager
  • Business established for a minimum of 1 year
  • A turnover in excess of £50,000
