Current activities
The development of new multi-wavelength tunable laser sources and geometries for gas spectroscopy and detection.
Background
Fei studied her MA with a subject of tunable distributed feedback (DFB) waveguide lasers in physics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong where she developed her fascination with laser physics. In 2006, she moved to Université d’Angers, France, where she obtained her PhD in Physics under Prof. Jean Michel Nunzi’s supervision with a topic titled ‘Tunable Reflection DFB Lasers’. She then took up a post-doctoral researcher position at Dublin City University, Ireland, working on a project of developing photochemistry in microfuidic chips as a new, resource-efficient synthesis and analysis tool. In 2011 she joined the Department of Engineering Photonics at Cranfield University as a Research Fellow. Her work focuses on developing newly multi-wavelength tunable laser sources and geometries for gas spectroscopy and detection. Fei spends most of her spare time enjoying reading, music, and travelling.Selected publications
