Business Travel Research Centre

The Business Travel Research Centre is a source of applied consultancy capabilities and excellent training for the air transport and associated industries.

The Business Travel Research Centre is located at Cranfield University's Department of Air Transport, the largest air transport management faculty in Europe with a global reputation for excellence in applied research. BTRC draws together research and learning about the business travel sector undertaken over a ten year period.

The objective of the centre is to develop in-depth understanding of the complexities of the business travel sector, and its importance within the air transport industry. By so doing it aims to provide insight of the business travel market to airlines, corporate travel managers, procurement specialists, travel management companies, and the academic community.

BTRC win £100,000 funding from Omega for Project Icarus

BTRC are delighted to announce funding from Omega, for Project Icarus, a reserach project to develop a Carbon Reduction Toolkit for companies that purchase business travel and the development of a set of approved Environmental Accreditation standards and awards. Omega is a nine-university multi-disciplinary partnership established to study the environmental, business, and operational impacts of aviation and develop strategies to reduce environmental impacts and business risks. Project Icarus is the carbon reduction programme of the Institute of Travel Management.

   

BTRC White Paper on Self Booking Tools released

Cranfield University's Business Travel Research Centre in association with Amadeus IT Group and the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) has completed a study of corporates usage of and attitudes towards Self Booking Tools (SBTs).
