Facilities

Students on the course benefit from a wealth of University-wide and Departmental computational facilities. HPC facilities range from the 76 core Departmental HPC cluster to 856 core university HPC ‘Astral’ providing an opportunity to run large scale computational thesis projects. For entry in 2012 a new HPC facility will be in place which will be approximately eight times as fast as the current Astral facility!
