Lorch Foundation MSc Student Bursary

The Lorch Foundation continues its long association with the Cranfield Water Science Institute by providing four bursaries of £9,000 for MSc study in 2012/2013 towards fees and living expenses.  


The awards are available to suitably qualified full-time students on the one year MSc Water and Wastewater Engineering or Community Water and Sanitation (option of MSc Water Management) courses.

The bursary is designed to:
• Maintain the high standard of candidates onto the course
• Encourage the selected student to pursue an industrial process water vocation
• Maintain an interest in water research in areas of practical significance.

The bursaries are available to students who possess a minimum 2:1 Honours degree (or equivalent) in science or engineering, although degrees in other numerate or technology based subjects will also be considered. UK applicants with at least five years of relevant industrial experience will also be considered.

Students should apply directly to the Admissions Tutor for consideration for the bursary. The application should comprise a two page CV and a one page covering letter expressing why the applicant consider themselves suitable for the award. Applications should be sent electronically to:

The Lorch Foundation is a Charitable Trust founded to support and promote education and research in the field of water purification and related sciences for the benefit of mankind. The foundation was founded in 1979 by Dr Walter and Dr Diana Lorch. The Foundation established the highly successful School of Water Sciences, now the Cranfield Water Science Institute
