PSS-Micro

Designing a Product-Service System for Complex Micro-Integrated Devices IMRC Project (IMRC-125, 2008-11)

Principal Investigators: Professor  Ashutosh Tiwari and Dr Jeffrey Alcock
Project Manager: Mr Windo Hutabarat

The goal of this project is to develop a set of methodologies to facilitate the design of product-service systems in which 3-D micro-integrated devices form the physical core of the system. These methodologies would be designed for use by a micro-integrated device design team from the start of the design process.

We focus on the establishing product-service systems of micro-integrated devices in medical care, particularly through microfluidic devices. This is a crossover project between the IMRC-funded research into product-service systems and the Cranfield University research on the manufacturing of the microfluidic demonstrator as part of the 3D Mintegration Grand Challenge project.

This project is funded by the Innovative Manufacturing Research Centre.
