"What makes a Cranfield Water Sciences graduate attractive to Anglian Water?
There are few academic institutions and courses that cater specifically for the water industry; this puts Cranfield in a unique position. The MSc students that have graduated from the Centre of Water Science's Masters courses are well versed in the pragmatic skills of water and wastewater treatment, and fully aware of the challenges facing the water industry in the 21st Century. This makes the graduates prime candidates for employment within Anglian and other water companies.
What are the main benefits to students of completing a Water Sciences Masters?
Detailed understanding of the different aspects of the water industry from legislation to the latest development in technology for treating water and wastewater. An integral part of the course is the thesis and placement. This provides information to the student on the workings of the utility in action and the employer has an opportunity to 'test drive' any student, plus have an intelligent human resource to carry out an appropriate project."
"Severn Trent Water find on the whole that Cranfield Water Science graduates have an excellent understanding of the fundamentals of water and wastewater treatment processes developed through a comprehensive syllabus, access to knowledgeable academic staff and good facilities. As a result students who have successfully completed the course will have a head start when applying for process based posts in the company."
