Cranfield-Euclid Scholarships - up to £9k+UK fees

Applied Sciences Scholarships are available for mathematics graduates pursing a full-time Masters course, covering UK fees plus up to £9k towards living costs. Students must highlight their interest in the scholarship on their application form.

Cranfield-Kirchhoff Scholarships - up to £9k+UK fees

Applied Sciences Scholarships are available for physics graduates pursing a full-time Masters course, covering UK fees plus up to £9k towards living costs. Students must highlight their interest in the scholarship on their application form.

Cranfield-Liebig Scholarships up to £9k+UK fees

Applied Sciences Scholarships are available for environmental science graduates pursing a full-time Masters course, covering UK fees plus up to £9k towards living costs. Students must highlight their interest in the scholarship on their application form.

Cranfield-Mendeleev Scholarships up to £9k+UK fees

Applied Sciences Scholarships are available for chemistry, chemical engineering and biochemistry graduates pursing a full-time Masters course, covering UK fees plus up to £9k towards living costs. Students must highlight their interest in the scholarship on their application form.

Applied Sciences' Scholarships – up to £5,000

The school has a limited number of scholarships available for highly qualified full-time students undertaking selected MSc programmes commencing October 2011. Students must highlight their interest in the scholarship on their application form. Scholarship allocation is is at the discretion of the course team.

DARD Northern Ireland Postgraduate Studentships

Each year, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development offers a limited number of postgraduate studentships. These are for either formal courses at postgraduate level or for a period of research leading to a higher degree from a United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland university. Douglas Bomford Trust

The Douglas Bomford Trust's overall objective is to advance knowledge, understanding, practice, competence and capability in the application of engineering and physical science to agriculture, horticulture, forestry, amenity and allied land based and biological activities for the sustainable benefit of the environment and mankind. Environmental Issues Award

The Environmental Issues award assists with funding for educational programmes dealing with environmental issues or supports environmental project work. The value of this award is worth up to £1,000. Applicants must be members of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and must hold a degree accredited by the Institution. Applications can be made throughout the year through the online application form.

Lorch MSc Student Bursary – Water and Wastewater Engineering MSc and Water Management MSc

Lorch Foundation MSc Student Bursary at Cranfield University

The Lorch Foundation continues its long association with the Cranfield Water Science Institute by providing four bursaries of £9,000 for MSc study in 2012/2013 towards fees and living expenses.  

The awards are available to suitably qualified full-time students on the one year MSc Water and Wastewater Engineering or Community Water and Sanitation (option of MSc Water Management) courses.

The bursary is designed to:

• Maintain the high standard of candidates onto the course,
• Encourage the selected student to pursue an industrial process water vocation,
• Maintain an interest in water research in areas of practical significance.

The bursaries are available to students who possess a minimum 2:1 Honours degree (or equivalent) in science or engineering, although degrees in other numerate or technology based subjects will also be considered. UK applicants with at least five years of relevant industrial experience will also be considered.

Students should apply directly to the Admissions Tutor for consideration for the bursary. The application should comprise a two page CV and a one page covering letter expressing why the applicant consider themselves suitable for the award. Applications should be sent electronically to:

The Lorch Foundation is a Charitable Trust founded to support and promote education and research in the field of water purification and related sciences for the benefit of mankind. The foundation was founded in 1979 by Dr Walter and Dr Diana Lorch. The Foundation established the highly successful School of Water Sciences, now the Cranfield Water Science Institute.

Utilities and Service Industries Training (USIT) Limited Career Development Awards

USIT provides sponsorship of up to £7,500 for individuals, whose employees are unable to fully-fund their development, to attend an established academic course in the UK which is relevant to the water utility industry. Courses which may be eligible include:

Whitworth Scholarships Awards

Whitworth Scholarship Awards are intended for undergraduate engineering degree-level courses of any engineering discipline including MEng and MSc courses. Available to outstanding engineers, who have excellent academic and practical skills and the qualities needed to succeed in industry, who are wishing to embark/or have already commenced on an engineering degree-level programme. The Whitworth Scholarship Award will not exceed a total of £18,000 for any individual. The Whitworth Scholarship Award can be held in conjunction with other awards (except any other Whitworth Award). Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program (IFP)

The International Fellowships Program provides support for up to three years of formal graduate-level study leading to a masters or doctoral degree in a number of subjects including Environment and Development. Fellows are selected from countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Russia, where the Ford Foundation maintains active overseas programs. S. H. A. Ziauddin Trust

Awards for up to £500 are available to anyone studying, or wishing to study, on courses in science, agriculture or environmental protection, and willing to use their skills for the benefit of the peoples of the Indian sub-continent (i.e. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka) will be considered at all times of the year.
