Attendance of our short courses count towards your individual CPD with Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) and the IWO.

Course description

  • raw water quality
  • membrane processes (reverse osmosis, electrodialysis) design and operation
  • evaporative processes (multi-stage flash and multiple effect)
  • fouling and pre-treatment (scaling/plugging and their amelioration; cleaning)
  • RO CAD demonstration
  • case studies
  • calculation of membrane design and operational parameters.

On successful completion of this course the delegate will be able to:

  1. An understanding of the underlying basic governing principles of desalination technologies design and operation.
  2. An introduction to the application of desalination technologies to potable water production from seawater and industrial effluent recycling.
  3. An opportunity to apply mathematical expressions based on the above to provide basic design and develop protocols for the operation of desalination technologies.
