Course description
- raw water quality
- membrane processes (reverse osmosis, electrodialysis) design and operation
- evaporative processes (multi-stage flash and multiple effect)
- fouling and pre-treatment (scaling/plugging and their amelioration; cleaning)
- RO CAD demonstration
- case studies
- calculation of membrane design and operational parameters.
On successful completion of this course the delegate will be able to:
- An understanding of the underlying basic governing principles of desalination technologies design and operation.
- An introduction to the application of desalination technologies to potable water production from seawater and industrial effluent recycling.
- An opportunity to apply mathematical expressions based on the above to provide basic design and develop protocols for the operation of desalination technologies.
