Testimonials include:
“I studied the MSc in Water & Wastewater Engineering as a part of a double degree programme with my Spanish University.
I chose Cranfield because it offered me the opportunity of improving my knowledge of the water industry, a sector in which I had already been interested in before coming to Cranfield.
From an academic point of view, the course definitely fulfilled my expectations as a broad range of subjects were covered rigorously by an exceptional team of experts. They were very supportive and encouraging through the whole year.
The course its self was both challenging and intense, with varied nature learning activities, including site visits, guest speakers and tutorials closely related to the treatment problems typically found in the water industry. All these activities, in conjunction with the group design projects and the final thesis, were essential to gain the skills required to develop a successful career within the water industry. I would recommend this course as a starting point to anyone who wishes to focus his/her career on the water industry. My year in Cranfield has been the most valuable in my life as much as the academic point as the social point. I feel more prepared for the job market and life in general.”Mikel Orive , Double Degree Dpl.Ing. student (University of the Basque Country),

Winner of the Institution of Chemical Engineers Water Subject Group Prize for Best Thesis
“The laboratory facilities available at Cranfield are amazing and a great place to discuss aspects of the course and learn about new industry developments with the research students.
The aspect of the course I liked the most was that it was directly applicable to work in the water industry, a refreshing change from the theories and first principles of my undergraduate course!
When I completed the MSc and started working I found it very easy to jump straight into the role without much training or direction. The thesis experience with Severn Trent Water as well as Cranfield’s reputation managed to get me a career with Celtic Anglian Water during a tough time in the jobs market.”Siobhan McGrath

Winner British Water Prize for Best Group Design Project
"While working as a sales manager at a multi-national company in India, dealing in water and wastewater treatment products, I was keen to refresh my basics and upgrade my skills / knowledge on current treatment technologies.
The best part of the Cranfield experience was the two group projects we had to submit. It gave us the opportunity to practice all that we had learnt but in the confines of a group. This presented several challenges, as groups were diverse and multi-cultural.
I had the opportunity to work on site for my thesis project away from the University and this gave me the opportunity to interact more closely with my industrial sponsors, not to mention get my hands dirty working on my test rig. It was a wonderful experience and one that I'll cherish for a very long time to come.
Overall the course delivered on what it promised and I can safely say that I am glad to have joined Cranfield. I have learnt the basics of water and wastewater treatment and glimpsed the bright future. On returning to India I have started a consultancy and my knowledge from Cranfield has gone a long way in establishing my credibility.
I highly recommend this course for anyone interested in a career in water and wastewater.”Sebastian Zacharias
