The popularised myths described in popular fiction like Michael Crichton's novel 'Prey', and serialised in TV dramas, are rapidly being pushed aside as large organisations such as Unilever and QinetiQ see the value of integrating miniature and nanosystems. In such a rapidly changing and vibrant atmosphere it is vital that the Microsystems and Nanotechnology programmes are agile and satisfy industry's requirements.
