- Performance specification of microsystems
- Introduction to finite element analysis, review of FEA software packages relevant to MST
- Modelling and simulation of micro-fabrication processes
- Review of CAD and simulation software tools for MST
- Practical examples (instruction and hands-on) illustrating use of software
- Examples of MST designs applied to real-world situations
- Design exercise.
On successful completion of this course delegates will be able to:
- Specify the performance of MEMS devices.
- Have a working knowledge of the software tools that are available for MEMS design and their usefulness in translating a specification into a practical design.
- Have an understanding of the interactions between MEMS functionality, MEMS fabrication processes and packaging.
