Course aim

The Geographical Information Management programme aims to provide a professional level of training in the technical, analytical and research skills and knowledge required to enhance your career prospects within the dynamic field of geographical information management and geographical information systems.

The course objectives are:

  • To provide a sound understanding of the principles of remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), field methods and statistical analysis
  • To develop to a professional level, proficiency in the use of market leading image processing and spatial analysis software
  • To integrate, within the context of a specific project, appropriate elements of the component technologies to produce quality-assured innovative solutions
