Dr Jay Lee is Ohio Eminent Scholar and L W Scott Alter Chair Professor in Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Cincinnati and is founding director of National Science Foundation Industry/University Cooperative Research Center on Intelligent Maintenance Systems; a multi-campus NSF Center of Excellence between the Universities of Cincinnati, Michigan, and Missouri-Rolla in partnerships with over 40 global companies including Rockwell Automation, Boeing, Caterpillar, DaimlerChrysler, GE Aviation, Harley-Davidson, Honeywell, Komatsu, Samsung, Toshiba, Toyota, United Technologies, Bosch.  In addition, Dr Lee is Changjiang Chair Professor and a co-Director of Industrial Innovation Center at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, a distinguished Scheme Chair Professor at Hong Kong PolyU, as well as serving as honorary professor and visiting professor in a number of institutions including Cranfield University, Lulea University of Technology in Sweden, City University of Hong Kong. His current research focuses on autonomic computing and smart prognostics technologies for predictive maintenance and self-maintenance systems, advanced gerontics engineering and innovative service business model studies.

Professor Hamid Mughal’s career spans over 25 years in the Aerospace and Automotive Industries where he has held a number of senior positions in a variety of disciplines. These include Manufacturing Technology, design and implementation of Automation Systems, Manufacturing Engineering & Manufacturing Management, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Business Management and latterly Product Development of large scale programmes. He joined Rolls-Royce in October 2000 from BMW where he was Director of New Product Programmes.
In his current role as Director of Manufacturing Engineering at Rolls-Royce plc, he is responsible for the development and implementation of new Manufacturing facilities, Manufacturing Technologies, Manufacturing Processes, Quality Assurance and the realignment of Manufacturing activities to meet the challenges of Process Excellence, Cost Leadership and Global Supply Chain.  He has a keen interest in the latest developments in Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management and contributes regularly to professional bodies and postgraduate education in his capacity as a Visiting Professor at Cranfield University, University of Sheffield and University of Hertfordshire.
Professor Mughal passionately believes in the development of a competitive manufacturing base in UK. As such, he plays a very active role in the UK Aerospace Industry and in a number of collaborative programmes involving Industry and Universities. Over the years he has led the development of a number of educational programmes for Industry Managers; most recently a postgraduate level programme in Operational Excellence involving Southampton, Cranfield and Cambridge Universities.

  • Professor Fukuda Shuichi

Professor Morgan Swink is Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management, in the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management at Michigan State University. He teaches in areas of supply chain management, project management, product development, and operations strategy. Professor Swink’s research interests include product/process innovation, operations strategy, and supply chain management. His current research projects include studies of product/process complexity, competitive capabilities, and process innovation. He was won several awards for excellence in undergraduate and MBA teaching.
