Energy Technology Centre

The Energy Technology Centre here at Cranfield University embraces:

  • power generation technology
  • offshore technology and subsea engineering
  • risk management and reliability engineering

Under the direction of Professor John Oakey, the Centre offers specialist research, education, training and consultancy in wet and dry renewable energy, biomass conversion and energy from waste, process simulation, diving and underwater technology, offshore materials engineering, subsea engineering, risk management and reliability engineering. Staff within the Energy Technology Centre are engaged in several international energy technology consortia, regional initiatives and Research Council collaborations.

Offshore and Ocean Technology is a flagship postgraduate course within the School of Applied Sciences. The programme has a genuine international reputation, regularly attracting students from around the world. Our short courses are also highly regarded with leading organisations sending delegates to Cranfield.
