- Dr Martin Lowe studied environmental sciences at Leicester University and later was one of the first students to be awarded the post-graduate diploma in Hazardous Waste Management from Loughborough University, winning the Best Student prize. Martin works for Shanks and has spent over 25 years working in the waste industry. He has been involved in several research projects, culminating in his being awarded his PhD at Cranfield following research into landfill as a complex environmental technology. He lectures on numerous aspects of the waste industry and is currently advising Shanks on legislative changes and continuing his work on the impacts of landfill.
