Our mission is to support the automotive industry with innovation and research intensive solutions in relation to:

The Centre for Automotive Technology at Cranfield University develops and delivers solutions drawing on the combined expertise of staff based in the Centre and colleagues working in other departments. Our multi-disciplinary approach is a key benefit to our clients. We have access to dedicated infrastructure and equipment which underpins our work. These include facilities for modelling, impact testing, seat testing, rolling road, off road vehicle dynamics and moment of inertia testing.
In addition to the Centre's research, testing and consultancy activities, we deliver the highly successful MSc Motorsport Engineering and Management. This programme attracts students from all over the world to study here at Cranfield. Many of our alumni are associated with leading motorsport teams and companies. In addition to Masters' courses and research study programmes we are able to deliver training for clients. These can be in the form of standard short courses or programmes tailored specifically to clients' needs.
The Centre is dedicated to supporting the UK motorsport and associated industries in understanding issues and opportunities in energy efficiency.

Cranfield was pleased to welcome the Universities and Science Minister Rt Hon David Willetts MP to its Bedfordshire campus on Friday 13th January 2012. During his visit he had the chance to experience several of Cranfield’s impressive industrial scale facilities, including the unique Off Road Dynamics Facility.
