Background
Robert Wright is currently a Research Fellow in Microsystems within the Sports Surface and Nanotechnology Institute at Cranfield. He graduated from Imperial College and joined the General Electric Company’s Hirst Research Centre where he carried out research into III-V and electro-optic materials and devices. In 1990 he left to join the GEC-Marconi Materials Technology Ltd to work on high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) for monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs).
Robert transferred to the Sensors Division within GMMT (later BAE SYSTEMS Infra-Red Ltd) and since 1995 has worked on applications of thin film ferroelectrics/piezoelectrics to microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) principally uncooled thermal imaging arrays.
