Current activities

Mr Ian Truckell is researching into Environmental Risk Assessment including environmental systems, geohazard risk assessment and agro-climatic modelling. Analysis of the spatial distribution of UK waste arisings and distribution of economic energy potential which may be generated from these arisings. Continued provision of GIS teaching support to both masters and research students.

Background

Mr Ian Truckell has strong technical competencies in applying Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to a variety of subject areas, with specific focus on soil information, natural resource management and environmental risk. He has a close technical understanding of image processing, programming and Global Positioning System (GPS) technologies as well as significant experience in the production of digital and conventional cartographic outputs. Ian’s role includes the management of GIS and Image Processing software as well as the Edina Digimap collections for the University. He also has input into a number of Cranfield’s taught Masters Courses and provision of technical assistance to research students.
