Current activities
Hayley Shaw is a Knowledge Exchange Manager and one of four theme leaders within the Risk Centre. Knowledge Exchange is considered a crucial element of effective risk management within Defra and its associated network. An effective Knowledge Exchange Programme will offer advances in efficiency, innovation, collaboration, and prioritisation of the risk portfolio. Hayley’s work helps deliver this via collaborative working, networking opportunities, strategy implementation and improved communication – ensuring the full use of expertise within Defra and the Risk Centre.
Hayley also works to promote engagement with internal and external stakeholders - an activity key to sustaining the Centre’s highly collaborative nature. By networking this expertise, Hayley will help draw in multidisciplinary insights on behalf of our clients, and secure additional interest from new clients in order to maintain an active research portfolio.

Hayley is an experienced consultant and sales professional with a background in biological sciences (specialising in Physiology and Pharmacology). Her experience so far has been within university-based business environments, consulting with businesses ranging from SMEs to multinational organisations, in a range of industries; from ecology and microbiology to marketing or insurance.
Hayley offers particular expertise in consultancy and solution finding, client management and communications strategy.
