- commissioning of an articulation rig for measuring vehicle wheel loads
- commissioning a soil processor for conditioning soil in a 45 x 5 metre soil lane
- building a brake/winch unit for applying controlled drawbar loads to a moving vehicle and supervising students.

Background
Dr Terence Richards started his career as an Agricultural Engineer and worked his way up to the level of Service Manager before returning to full time education to complete both first degree and doctoral programmes. He is currently working at Cranfield University as a Senior Research Officer involved mainly with instrumentation of agricultural and off highway vehicles and the design and building of novel research rigs. Past projects have included design of a novel harvester for harvesting Myrica Gale in the Scottish Highlands, producing and commissioning an instrumentation system for measuring forces on agricultural implements for the Iranian Agricultural Engineering Research Institute and designing and building an articulation rig for measuring vehicle wheel loads when vehicles are subject to combinations of pitch roll and cross-axle angles. Terence also manages the engineering project workshops and electronics labs.
