Current activities

Current research projects include activities on various aspects of natural organic matter and algae treatment, membranes processes coupled to either biological or chemical reactors, water recycling for urban (grey and black water), industrial and aquifer recharge applications.

Bruce is also the Course Director of the Water and wastewater Engineering/Technology postgraduate programmes (full-time).

Background

Dr Bruce Jefferson is a chemical engineer with a BEng and PhD from Loughborough University and joined the staff in Water Sciences in 1997 and was subsequently appointed to the post of Senior Research Fellow in 2003 and the Senior Lecturer in 2006. He manages an active research team involved in areas of potable water treatment, water recycling and membrane bioreactors. Bruce has (co) authored three books across his different research areas as well as a number of patents and over 150 journal and referred conference papers.
