Current activities
Dr Lynda Deeks is currently involved in modelling phosphorus concentrations in the Upper Thurne using SWAT model, investigating soil compaction in grassland landscapes in England and Wales, and she is also a member of the Exe Catchment Sensitive Farming steering committee.

Background
Dr Lynda Deeks graduated in Geography and subsequently studied for a PhD in Physical Geography at the University of Plymouth. The PhD, which investigated preferential and matrix flow in a mole drained soil block lead on to a Post Doctoral position based at the University of Plymouth and Institute of Grassland and Environmental Research at North Wyke in Devon.
Following on from this, Lynda was based at the Scottish Crop Research Institute where she was responsible for coordinating an experimental program relating to hydro/chemical modelling across a range of physical scales from sub 1 cm2 to 1 km2.
Before joining Cranfield University in May 2003 she was a Research Scientist based in Devon.
