Current activities

Yolanda Aguilera Torrico is a PhD student at Cranfield University and a Marie Curie Fellow in the ATWARM (Advanced Technology for Water Resource Management) project.

Her project title is 'Delivering low carbon anaerobic wastewater treatment and renewable energy production'. This project involves the design of a reactor to treat anaerobic wastewater at low temperature; consisting of experiments in the Pilot Hall and analysis in the laboratory. The programme includes a three month secondment at the Queens University in Belfast as well as summer training programmes in a number of different Universities.

Background

Yolanda Aguilera Torrico studied Chemical Engineering at Barcelona University, Spain. Proceeding this Yolanda completed her Master’s thesis at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden. This was a European project which focused on obtaining hydrogen from biomass. She worked in one step of the global process, on the possibility to work with a monolith catalyst reformer instead of a conventional one.
