Contact Dr Ahmed Al-Faisal Sheikh Al-Shabab

Background

Dr Ahmed Al-Faisal Sheikh Al-Shabab is a Research Fellow at the Computer Sciences Engineering Centre working on multiphysics modelling, turbulence modelling and aerodynamics. Ahmed was awarded a BA and MEng in Aerospace and Aerothermal Engineering from Christ’s College, The University of Cambridge, in 2010 and 2011 respectively. Following that, he was awarded a PhD in Engineering from Christ’s College, The University of Cambridge, for his thesis on the computational modelling of aerodynamic installation effects in open jet wind tunnels.

Research opportunities

Ahmed’s research experience includes working on oleo-pneumatic shock absorber simulation, the numerical generation and control of turbulent boundary layer spots, and aerodynamic installation effects. His role includes leading the technical delivery of research projects, contributing to lecturing and teaching delivery on MSc, PhD and short courses, as well as contributing to the conceptualization and writing of research proposals.
