Databases: Conditions of use

Students studying in the Kings Norton Library

The databases we subscribe to bind the user (you) to certain conditions because they are purchased for academic use, not commercial use. Each database has a slightly different license.

Below is a summary of the basic common conditions for all the databases. If you would like to see the full conditions please ask at the Enquiry Desk.

You may access and download items of information from the services for your own personal use. The term "personal use" means teaching, education, research and personal educational development, but does not extend to use for commercial gain or exploitation including, but not limited to, acting for third parties.

Many of the databases require usernames and passwords. You must keep any usernames or passwords given to you to access these services confidential, and not allow anyone else to use them. You must not use them on behalf of anyone else. You must cease using them, and the services they allow access to, after the end of your course.

The University reserves the right to take legal action against individuals who cause it to be involved in legal proceedings as a result of violation of its licensing agreements.

Please contact us if you have any problems accessing any of the databases: libraryresources@cranfield.ac.uk

Please read the Rules for the use of computing facilities before you begin.
