About Human Resources and Development
Our people are our most valuable resource and the key to our success.
Human Resources and Development’s role is to provide a framework for the management and development of our people and culture which underpins the University’s strategic plan and objectives. In order to do this effectively, we need to operate as partners to the business, and a prime objective continues to be to build a team with the skills to do this.
Split into six teams, the Human Resources and Development Group comprises:
- Leadership Team – who is responsible for the strategic direction of the Group
- Operational Team – who supports our schools and central functions by helping them to recruit and retain the skills they need to deliver, compete and grow as well as providing support and advice on a full range of people-related issues
- Learning and Development Team – who work with individuals, schools and central functions to identify, organise, design and deliver development solutions
- Employee Relations – who is responsible for initiating and developing the University’s human resources policies and procedures, and advising the University with regards to its philosophy and progress in order to promulgate a diverse organisation which ‘values people’
- Management Information Systems Team – who provides the essential data to the Group and to line managers
- Internal Communications – manages and advises on all aspects of internal communications from the staff magazine to change projects.
