Managing Quality in Chains

Cranfield University are delighted to be hosting the VI International Conference on Managing Quality in Chains (MQUIC 2013). It is the first international postharvest conference to take place in the United Kingdom (UK) for nearly 25 years, and we intend to make it a memorable one.

Cranfield enjoy an international reputation for expertise in addressing pre- and postharvest food chain quality issues. Through research, education and consultancy we work with UK, EU and international governments and their agencies, major food multinationals and retailers, and grower levy bodies to ensure the quality and safety of fresh produce for consumers.

Our extensive knowledge and experience mean that we are perfectly placed to deliver an exciting and informative programme discussing the very latest issues and advancements in fresh produce quality and supply chain management through-out the entire global food chain system. The very best scientists, policy makers and industrial experts from around the world will lead our discussions and presentations, and there will be poster presentations, workshops, a technical tour and an exhibition. Industry professionals, researchers, academics and students alike will benefit from attending the conference – it will provide a fantastic opportunity to develop and strengthen your international networks

Cranfield is located in Bedfordshire, at the heart of England, and is an excellent gateway for exploring our beautiful country. We have therefore planned a variety of excursions to introduce you to our diverse land – from our wealth of natural and historical heritage to our vibrant and cosmopolitan towns and cities. There really is something for everyone.
I look forward to welcoming you to the UK in September 2013.

Professor Leon A. Terry – Convener MQUIC 2013
