An essential tool for researchers and policy makers in the field of endocrine disruption
Criteria for inclusion of chemicals on the database:
- one or more ‘positive’ findings from in vitro or in vivo assays indicative of endocrine disruption;
- findings from general or reproductive toxicity tests indicative of potential endocrine activity; or
- previous identification of the chemical as a potential endocrine disrupter by an authoritative international or national body.

Developed for use with Microsoft® Access 97, 2000 and 2002 software on Microsoft® 95, 98 or 2000 platforms.
REDIPED was designed in consultation with scientists from the anticipated user community. It is user-friendly and its CD format offers a fast, flexible, robust and easily portable information source, independent of any need for web access.
The CD-ROM contains:
- Information on 79 potential endocrine disrupting chemicals, including naturally occurring compounds, industrial chemicals, agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals.
Chemicals are selected from a main chemical navigation page by means of a drop down menu or by typing in the required chemical name.

- Help tutorials - provide guidance on the use of the database and how to interrogate the data.
- A guide to REDIPRED - provides background information on the endocrine disrupter issue and details of the data included in the system.
