Integrating Portfolio
Aim
To facilitate the integration of taught course theory with the students’ workplace environment, promoting the application of skills and knowledge to explore selected topics in greater depth.
Syllabus
Through the practical application of taught course theory in a structured portfolio each student will:
- Assimilate and evaluate published information on a topic of relevance to the student
- Practice written communication skills in preparation for the research thesis
- Develop a range of competencies (co-ordination, communication, technical) applicable to academic and workplace environments.
Intended learning outcomes:
On successful completion of the Integrating Portfolio the student should be able to:
- Contextualise taught course theory in a workplace setting
- Demonstrate enhanced assimilation and evaluation of published literature in relation to a relevant case study
This element constitutes 20% of the overall mark.
