Medical Technology Regulatory Affairs MSc - part-time
Course structure
The course is divided into three parts:
Taught modules
Eight compulsory modules, covering everything from the main principles of regulatory affairs to regulatory strategies used when taking new products to market. This element constitutes 40% of the overall mark. The marks for each of the modules are obtained through a combination of different written assignments.
Integrating Portfolio
A critical part of the course, the integrating portfolio enables you to effectively apply the theory you have gained from the taught elements of the course to your workplace.
This element constitutes 20% of the overall mark
Research project and thesis
The research project is an integral part of the course. It gives you the chance to apply the skills, knowledge and understanding acquired during the taught phase of the course to a practical problem in regulatory affairs.
The research project will most likely be undertaken in your place of work however you may be able to complete this at Cranfield or possibly at another organisation (we may be able to help you find placements).
This element constitutes the remaining 40% of the overall mark. The marks are obtained from a combination of a submitted thesis, application and initiative shown during the project which is assessed by the project supervisor and assessment of an oral presentation of the project.
Non-MSc Options
Students who attend and pass all eight modules and submit a dissertation rather than a thesis may be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip). Students who attend and pass five modules may be awarded a Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert). Please note that, in order to be eligible to attain the qualification, students must register for the MSc/PgDip/PgCert qualifications prior to beginning their studies.
For professionals with specific interests who do not wish to complete a full qualification, individual modules are available as standalone short courses.
