Cranfield Health offers fantastic research opportunities in health and bioscience.

Our students thrive on producing the highest quality research. Much of which takes place in collaboration with our extensive pool of industrial partners. Students benefit from our state-of-the-art laboratories and become part of a rich research community within our Health and Biosciences Doctoral Training Centre.  Our students also benefit from the opportunity to work with other research students across the university; developing core research skills and key skills such as project management, scientific writing and presentation skills.

Key to our strong research/ PhD offering is Cranfield Health’s focus on fundamental research and its application. Our world-class academics and researchers carry out extensive research in collaboration with industry and government agencies in the UK, Europe and Internationally. Our excellent links facilitate our increasing demand for research students.

Cranfield Health research focuses across a variety of areas including Biosensors and diagnostics; Food quality, Health and the environment and Translational medicine; these can be explored through our research areas.

Research opportunities are available in the areas of biosensors, molecular imprinted polymers, microbial biotechnology, bioinformatics, medically-related diagnostic technologies, surface science and smart polymers, optical sensor technologies, ageing, health-related cancer biomarkers, food security, plant science directed at provision of healthy, quality food and environment and health.

MSc by Research

This is a one-year research programme enabling students to focus on a specific area of interest. Students also have the opportunity to attend modules from our taught programmes.
