Stem cells and cell differentiation
The understanding of the development of organs and tissues in the embryo has revealed the existence of a primitive cell type, or stem cell, which has the remarkable property of being able to make all the tissues of the body. Here at Cranfield Health, we are actively pursuing the fundamental mechanisms that control embryonic development as well as the use of stem cells to recapitulate organ function.
