What is this event about?

The 2013 European Armoured Fighting Vehicles Symposium, the eighteenth iteration in the series of Symposia at Shrivenham.

One of the unique features of Symposia at Shrivenham is the broad spectrum, in scope and depth, of technical papers.  That reputation will be upheld again this year.  This symposium offers industry, from around the world, the opportunity to describe what solutions are available and affordable. 

How can you contribute?

Technical papers are invited to compliment those provided by invited senior speakers from UK Defence Acquisition, Capability Requirements and Arms Capability development organisations.

If you would like to contribute a paper, please ensure that your application and Abstract of approximately 200 words reach us by 18 March 2013.  Presentation of papers should take no more than 20 minutes, followed by questions.

Who will be there?

This symposium uses a well proven format which brings together, annually, representatives from Military Staffs, Government Procurement Agencies, Research and Development Staffs and Industry from around the world in a relaxed atmosphere within the surroundings of the Defence Academy.  Time is planned into the programme to allow formal and informal discussions both in the main lecture theatre and during the breaks for coffee, lunch and tea.  The formal dinner, an important aspect of the symposium, has proved to be very useful and productive in previous years.  The occasion provides an ideal and convivial focus for networking and discussing issues with your professional peers who are each addressing the challenge from their own perspective.  Proceedings on DVD will be available at the end of the symposium, free to all delegates. 

Timings and Registration

Registration will begin at 0830hrs on Wednesday 15 May at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, Shrivenham. 

In order to keep the intimate atmosphere of the symposium, attendance is limited to 250.  So please book early to ensure a place.

Displays

Previous attendees will realise that this symposium provides a highly targeted audience.  Time will be especially allotted to the displays and we offer companies, departments and establishments an opportunity to display their equipment or advertise their capability.  A complimentary half page advertisement in the symposium programme is available to those who book display space

Please Note: Display personnel need to register as delegates if they wish to attend symposium presentations and meals.
