Health Services
The Campus Medical Centre is only available for treating Military students.
Civilian students and dependants must register at the Elm Tree Surgery in Shrivenham or at a local surgery.
● Elm Tree Surgery Telephone: 01793 782207
Overseas students on courses lasting six months or longer are normally entitled to free medical treatment from the National Health Service (NHS) but may check with the Registration Department of the Local Health Authority to make sure.
● Telephone NHS Direct on 0845 46 47
Or visit their website: www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk
The NHS is basically a free service although there is a charge for prescriptions.
You must register at a local surgery when you arrive to ensure that you are not billed for any treatment you may have.
If you or your family have any health problems or special medical requirements, you must make them known at your doctor's surgery when you register.
Please also note that the NHS does not usually cover dental and optical treatment and you may incur some substantial charges.
