This page provides important information for all arriving Postgraduate students. Please read it through carefully to ensure you are prepared for the start of your Cranfield University course.
Upcoming arrival dates - taught postgraduate students

Joining Instructions and Registration
On your Arrival Day you will be introduced to the School, your course, complete the enrolment process and embark on your first module, unless otherwise advised. On arrival at the Main Gate Reception you will be required to produce photographic ID and your offer letter from Academic Registry. You will be issued with a temporary vehicle pass and a personal pass (UK military students require a vehicle pass only) to allow you to access the site. Please note it can take up to 30 minutes to complete formalities at the Main Gate on the first day of term.
Please remember to bring the following documentation with you, where required.
Please also bring photocopies for administration purposes.
- degree certificates (all students, if applicable)
- passport (non military students)
- any other documentation required to fulfil your conditions of offer, eg IELTS results for international students
*DEFENCE ACADEMY IT ACCOUNT*
The Defence Academy IT account allows you to log onto the Defence Academy network from the majority of computers on the campus. The network is owned by the Ministry of Defence and subject to MOD controls so before accessing the network it is essential that you read:

Please sign the Account acceptance form http://www.da.mod.uk/downloads/defence-academy-account-acceptance-form.pdf indicating that you agree to abide by the requirements of the SyOPs and AUP. Hand the completed form to the appropriate Registration staff on duty on 9th January who will allocate your IT account as per the Arrivals timetable.
Students' Information booklet
On the following link you will find 'A Students' Guide to Shrivenham'. This booklet provides information that you will find useful prior to and after arrival on Campus. You will receive a printed copy at Registration and find it on the 'Virtual Learning Environment' (VLE) after your IT induction (see page 44). 'A Students' Guide to Shrivenham'

Accommodation
It is ESSENTIAL that all students arrange accommodation prior to arrival in Shrivenham.
Military and MOD Civil Servants: Single room accommodation may be available in the Mess (Mess Rules).
Full Time Civilian Students: Information on external rented accommodation is available from our Accommodation Officer.
Further details on accommodation at Shrivenham - for both military and civilian students.
Part Time Civilian Students: Accommodation is not always available in the Officers' Mess but details of external accommodation can be supplied by your course administrator whose contact details can be found on the following link: MSc Administrators. Students need to arrange this accommodation themselves.
Students are also recommended to get Insurance.
Facilities
All students have access to the Library, please adhere to the Library Regulations.
There are also computing facilities available on site. Guide for students purchasing their own equipment.

All registered students are also members of the Cranfield Students' Association, and are entitled to have an NUS Card.
