Current activities
Roger leads a number of international training programmes relating to counter terrorism, crisis management and disaster management. Much of this training is on behalf of the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office and has included extensive programmes in a number of countries including Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, The Philippines and Egypt.
These programmes have been principally aimed at incident commanders from across the responding agencies, support organisations, intelligence agencies, businesses and NGO’s. The aim has been to help develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of good incident management, the need for proper pre-planning and the advantages from running exercises.
In addition, Roger leads on the delivery of shorter courses within the UK helping public bodies, private industry and charities plan and prepare for the risks that they face in order to better mitigate against those risks and reduce the impact of them.

Background
Roger has an extensive strategic and operational background in the British police service following 32 years service with Thames Valley Police. He retired in 2000 at the rank of Chief Superintendent having specialised in crisis management, contingency planning, firearm-incident management and training.
Roger is a qualified trainer, sporting events planner and air crash scene commander.
Following his retirement he worked as a Consultant for a number of British charities and UK-based blue-chip companies where he advised and guided strategic teams in their planning for and mitigation of disasters and crises.
He now works for Cranfield University as the manager of a large counter terrorist / crisis management training programme which is being delivered on behalf of the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) in a number of countries in Africa and South-East Asia. The focus of the work for the FCO has been on establishing command & control in a crisis, multi-agency co-operation in contingency planning, developing preventative skills and the management of consequences.
