Current activities

  • Operation maintenance and development of a 2.5Mev Van der Graaff accelerator.
  • Day to day running of the associated laboratories, including the practical laboratory classes for the post graduate students.
  • The construction of various apparatus for the solar cell research group.
  • Providing support to PhD students.

Background

Michael Sellwood began his career as a trainee technician in the Physics Department at the University of Reading . After completing his training Mike then worked for companies specialising in the installation of plant such as a 500 ton a day liquid nitrogen plant and accelerators. 

Prior to his employment at Cranfield University's Shrivenham campus Mike worked for Balzers High Vacuum installing and commissioning vacuum plant for the semiconductor industry.
