Current activities
Julieanna joined Cranfield University in 2004 as Head of Environmental Science in the Centre for Defence Chemistry. In this role she was responsible for the development of an Environmental Science Group where she was actively engaged in the design, development and delivery of several new environmental courses. sponsored by DE&S. Whilst in this role Julieanna created new modules for the Explosives Ordnance Engineering MSc (Explosives and the Environment) and the Wastes Management MSc (Hazardous, Radioactive, Chemical and Defence Wastes Management).
In 2010, Julieanna moved to be a Senior Research Fellow / Programme Director in the Centre for Defence Acquisition. In this position she will research how Environmental Policy influences the whole life cycle of large military assets and, its applicability to Resource Management as well as directing and managing all Environmental related research.

Background
Julieanna is an experienced Environmental Manager with over 14 years UK and overseas experience gained through academia, the private sector and local government.
She has covered a diverse range of Environmental Management topics. Her main areas of expertise include formulating International, European and National Environmental Management Strategies, Institutional Development, Technical and Managerial options covering Resource Collection, Treatment and Disposal, Training and Education and, Modelling Decision Support Systems. She has worked on projects in Asia, Eastern Europe, Northern Europe and the European Union for the Asian Development Bank (ADB), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) (DFID), German Government overseas (GTZ), European Commission (Phare, REAP, LIFE) and DEFRA. She also has experience of working in China and Mongolia, where her work contributed to their National Environmental Plans.
Julieanna is a Chartered Environmentalist, Chartered Waste Manager and a Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. She holds a PhD in Civil Engineering, an MSc in Environmental and Ecological Science and a First Class Honours (BSc) in Environmental Science
