Current activities
Although he has been involved in many areas of research over his career ranging from amorphous materials technology at Sheffield University to the development of semiconductor lasers and integrated optic components at Bath University, his current areas of interest are focused firmly in emitter geolocation, passive coherent location and multistatic radar. He also retains a keen interest in novel approaches to underwater acoustic communications systems and other communication systems that operate in severely dispersed environments.
Recently he has been involved in work for the IVHM Centre at Cranfield University on maximising the utility of avionics data busses
He is Associate Dean for Research in the School of Defence and Security, Cranfield University. He is a member of the UK EW Tower, a member the EW Tower SME Working Group and he chairs the Organising Committee of the Annual EW Symposium, which is co-sponsored by the UK Chapter of the AoC.
