Current activities
Tony Moore is currently the Director of the annual International Conflict and Crisis Management Course and is the module leader on the Disaster Management Module offered on the MSc in Global Security and the Crisis Management Module offered on the MBA (Defence). He is also responsible for the three-week Conflict and Crisis Module which is run annually at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College. He is a regular contributor to the one-week Crisis management Course offered regularly by Cranfield University at Shrivenham.
In 2006, on behalf of the UK Government, he carried out scoping visits to Egypt, Mozambique and Romania to assess whether the Government might be able to assist in developing the capacity of those countries to manage disasters and emergencies.
He has a wide experience of crises, disasters, emergencies and resilience related matters both in the United Kingdom and overseas. He is particularly interested in leadership and decision-making in stressful situations and has lectured and presented at conferences world-wide on these subjects.

Background
A former senior police officer in the Metropolitan Police, Tony Moore has been associated with Cranfield University at Shrivenham since 1987.
As an operational police officer he was involved in a wide range of activities including counter-terrorism and the management of civil disorder. He twice served on the staff at the Police Staff College, Bramshill.
At Shrivenham, he has been involved in crisis and disaster management training in a number of countries. He specialises in the response to human-made disasters, and leadership and decision-making under stress. He currently leads the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s Counter Terrorist Crisis Management programme in targeted countries overseas.
Tony is a regular speaker at international conferences, is Chairman of the Institute of Civil Defence and Disaster Studies and is co-editor of Tolley’s Handbook of Disaster and Emergency Management: Principles and Practice (Second Edition)
