Current activities

Epaminondas Koronis teaches in the areas of Resilience Theory (HR and Organisations), Organisational Behaviour, Business Continuity and Risk Communications. He is also an executive director for NOVENDIA Pharmaceuticals, leading the London Office, while he is a regular columnist for HR Week. 

His edited volume on Organizational Crises is forthcoming in 2011.

Dr Koronis’ research interests include Crisis Management, Organisational Behaviour, the Mass Media and Organisations. His PhD thesis, to be published, investigated the development of organisational crises in the mass media and included an analysis of risk and fear as they are communicated in wide audiences. 

He is now working on a series of papers on Media and Crises, the Knowledge Implications for Crisis Management and the Psychological Resilience of Organisations.

Background

Dr. Koronis received his PhD from Warwick Business School (University of Warwick) under scholarship. He also holds a Bachelor in Business Administration and Information Systems from Athens University of Economics, a Diploma (DipSc) in Software Engineering, a Masters (MA) in Organization Studies with Distinction from University of Warwick. He has also completed his Distance Learning Masters in Cultural and Media Studies from Open University (UK).

He has worked as a researcher and teaching fellow for Athens University of Economics, University of Warwick and National Technical University of Athens while he was the academic director of the Business School of Mediterranean University College, a private university branch of University of Teesside for two years. As a researcher and fellow Dr. Koronis has lead a series of projects on Knowledge Management, Crisis Management and Business Continuity while he has taught in the areas of Organization Theory, Crisis Management, Leadership and Strategic Management. 

He has developed a series of Executive Seminars for oil, shipping and security firms in collaboration with Hellenic Management Centre and ICTE.

Parallel to his academic career, Dr. Koronis has worked in the business sector since 1998, first as an executive and then filling top management positions in pharmaceutical firms. From November 2008 to August 2010, he was appointed managing director of NOVENDIA, a small 35m euros pharmaceutical company and he is still sitting on boards and committees in Greece, UK and France. Epaminondas was also involved in consultancy for large firms, including Diageo, Abbott, EYDAP and others while he is now holding an inactive partnership with Reputation Lab Research & Consulting in Athens and London.
