Hugh spent nearly 20 years doing research and consultancy with AEA Technology at Harwell where he rose to be a Senior Consultant. Work covered flow-induced vibration and noise in process plant as well as fluid-structure interactions in complex multi-phase flows.
For the last 10 years Hugh has been a Senior Lecturer at Cranfield University at the Shrivenham Campus where he has continued his research in fluids and structures and added expertise in ballistics. He teaches ballistics, mechanics, dynamics, acoustics, fluid mechanics and reliability.
Hugh is a fellow of the Institute of Acoustics and on the NAFEMS working group covering dynamics and testing.
