Research into the blast effects of charges with extreme geometries.Background
Mr Jim Clements served as an Ammunition Technician in the Army for 10 years before joining Cranfield University in 1989.Employed as a research officer he has gained considerable experience in the testing and evaluation of explosives and munitions, and his research interests include fuel-air explosions, explosive cutting charges, underwater explosions, explosive blast mitigation, improvised explosives, and directed energy systems.
Jim lectures regularly on explosives technology to a variety of commercial courses and is the University’s Senior Conducting Officer for the explosives range.
He also manages the Explosives Research Area at Shrivenham and is a Member of the Institute of Explosives Engineers.
