Current activities
Andrew Norton has been the Director of Operations at COTEC (Cranfield University Ordnance Test and Evaluation Centre) on Salisbury Plain near West Lavington since August 2005.
Background
A Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Andrew served for 38 years in the Royal Navy as a Weapon Engineer Officer. Fortunate to have travelled widely, he served in a variety of ships culminating in HMS Ark Royal as Commander WE, as well as on the Staff of Flag Officer First Flotilla and in procurement, training and policy areas. He was awarded the OBE in January 2005.
Andrew is married with four children, two stepsons and two step-grandsons. He lives in Warminster during the week and on the South Coast at weekends. For relaxation, he enjoys walking, sailing, crosswords, handbell ringing, amateur dramatics and computer programming when schedules permit.
