Course aims

The course is designed to teach the principles of Military Vehicle Technology, but free reference to specific vehicle systems is made to illustrate these principles. Emphasis is placed on the interaction of component and assembly design on the vehicle as a whole. Special attention is given to the study of advances in vehicle technology, and to providing the student with experience in the analysis and evaluation of new concepts against changes and developments in the threat.

The primary aim of the course is to provide education and training at postgraduate level for military officers, defence industry and government staff who may expect to fill technically demanding appointments concerned with the specification, design, development, procurement, assessment or operation of military vehicles. It is particularly suitable as a technical foundation for project management.

The course aims to cover all aspects of military vehicle technology, yet offers a degree of choice and specialisation to students having differing backgrounds or interests, or to fulfil specific requirements of individual sponsors.
