Course introduction
Available full and part-time
The Forensic MSc Programme is run by the Cranfield Forensic Institute (CFI) which is based at Cranfield University’s Shrivenham campus.
The Forensic MSc Programme has been constructed from the modules of two existing and well-established Forensic MSc courses- Forensic Engineering and Science and Forensic Archaeology and Anthropology. The versatile programme offers students a wide range of modules allowing them to graduate with one of five tailored MSc courses that will closely match their desired area of professional expertise:
- Forensic Archaeology and Anthropology MSc
- Forensic Ballistics MSc
- Forensic Engineering and Science MSc
- Forensic Investigation MSc
* In the Forensic Investigation MSc, the four role specific modules are replaced by four more elective modules, making seven in all.
The programme comprises three components; two weeks of assessed introductory studies followed by eleven taught modules – four core modules, four role specific modules* which determine your MSc selection and a further three elective modules. This is followed by a four-month research project and thesis.
Students benefit from the expertise of academics as well as visiting experts who contribute to teaching. You will also have access to excellently-equipped science and engineering laboratories and you will visit forensic and other establishments relevant to specific modules.
Suitable for both recent graduates and professionals working in relevant fields of study, this programme will prepare you for a variety of exciting Forensic related career opportunities.
